    This central plaza of Lincoln Center is bordered by the David H. Koch Theater, the Metropolitan Opera House, Avery Fisher Hall and Columbus Avenue. Performances and public dancing events take place on it during the summer.

  • Jerome Park Branch—New York Public Library

    The Hunt's Point Branch of the New York Public Library, designed by Carrère and Hastings and built in the architectural style of 14th-century Florence, features spacious windows and large arches of warm red brick. It was completed in 1929 as the last of the 39 branches built with the gift from Andrew Carnegie. Located on the first floor are the adult collection, an extensive reference collection and a separate area for teenagers. The second floor houses the Children's Room as well as a Story Hour Room which accommodates 75 people, and is used for free library programs and for community events. The branch is air-conditioned and fully accessible to persons who use wheelchairs.

    The John Golden Theatre was originally built in 1927 as the Theatre Masque by real-estate magnates, the Chanin Brothers. The Golden’s interior has a Spanish influence, an example of the Mission Revival style popular on the West Coast. It seats 804.
