Kid Fun in Grown-Up Museums
Art museums are smart. They know that in terms of creativity and imagination, kids have a lot in common with the artists featured on their walls. To acclimate kids to new ways of looking and discussing what they see, grown-up museums are tailoring programs to young people and their families. It's a great way to groom future museum-goers and artists.

The Metropolitan Opera's foremost goal is to present the highest-quality performances of grand opera each season featuring the world's most talented artists and conductors. The Met is committed to presenting works from the broadest range of the operatic repertory and making its programs available to a wide audience through national and international broadcasts on radio and television, free summer performances in parks in the New York metropolitan area, and educational programs for students and aspiring young singers.

Two hours before curtain time for regular performances Monday through Thursday (excluding galas, special events, and opening nights), the Met box office sells 200 orchestra seats for $20 (50 of these tickets are are set aside for senior citizens). Learn more here.

Seniors Discounts
Through the support of two patrons, senior citizens (65 and up) can reserve $20 tickets to select performances held Monday through Thursday by calling (212) 362-6000 punctually at 12 pm on the day of the performance. This offer is restricted to two tickets per order, and proof of age is required when tickets are picked up at the box office. Fifty of these tickets are reserved for these performances.

- Gift Shops: The Metropolitan Opera Shop, with a wide array of music, books, and more, is in the North Lobby of the opera house.
- On-Site Food: The Grand Tier Restaurant is open to Met ticket holders for pre-curtain dinner and intermission refreshment. For more information and reservations, call (212) 799-3400. The Belmont Room is available for pre-performance dining and intermission cocktail service for Guild Members at the Contributing level (or higher) and Met Patrons. Pre-curtain and intermission bars are located in Founders Hall and on the Orchestra, Parterre (Parterre Box ticket holders only), Grand Tier and Family Circle levels. Snacks are available. A pre-curtain and intermission bar is available in the Board Room for the members of The Metropolitan Opera Patron Program.
- On-Site Parking: The Lincoln Center "park and lock" parking garage is underneath Lincoln Center. It is open to the public 24 hours a day. The entrances are on West 65th Street (between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues) and West 62nd Street (between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues). For more information, call (877) 909-PARK. To make parking reservations within three weeks of a performance date, call Centercharge at (212) 721-6500. Call (212) 874-9021 for reservations if you require a parking space in the "yellow" wheelchair accessible section. The entrance for this section is on Amsterdam Avenue, one hundred feet North of 62nd Street.
