The Bronx Council on the Arts provides an array of services to 5,000 artists and more than 250 arts and community-based organizations. The council manages an exhibition and artists' studio program and sponsors public art initiatives—such as murals and outdoor sculpture exhibits—and produces music, dance and theater presentations, recitals, concerts and festivals.
It periodically distributes brochures with performance information; these can often be found at public libraries.
