The Bronx County Historical Society maintains the Bronx County Research Library and Archives and hosts educational programs, walking tours, exhibitions and lectures on the history of the only mainland borough. The society also operates the Valentine-Varian House, just down the block, in which the Museum of Bronx History is located, and the Edgar Allan Poe Cottage, the 19th-century poet's nearby residence.
Programs for Seniors
Illustrated talks at senior centers upon request.
Senior Membership
Seniors (62 and older) pay $20 instead of $35 for membership.

- Tours: Group tours (minimum of eight) can be scheduled weekdays 9 am-5 pm for the Valentine-Varian House: $3 per student or senior; $5 per teacher.
