Founded in 1954, the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College presents outstanding performing arts and arts education programs, reflective of Brooklyn's diverse communities, at affordable prices.
Serving schoolchildren from over 225 schools annually, Brooklyn Center's SchoolTime Series offers weekday class trip opportunities for grades pre-K through 12. Tickets for the 2011-2012 series are $7 in advance or $8 at the door.
For the past 25 years, Brooklyn Center has presented weekend matinees specifically chosen for families with children ages four to twelve. Renamed the Target FamilyFun series in 2008, the series is designed to provide parents the opportunity to introduce their children to live music, theater and dance.
Tickets for Brooklyn Center's 2011-2012 Target FamilyFun Series range from $7 - $10.
Foreign-language Programs
Russian-language events take place one to three times each season.
Brooklyn College students admitted free beginning one hour before curtain (validated student I.D. required, limit one ticket per I.D.). $10 Student Rush tickets for all other students available one hour before curtain (validated student I.D. required).
• Choose any three or four shows and pay the Multibuy discount price. • Choose any five or more shows and pay the Megabuy discount price. • Save up to 15% off the price of individual tickets. • Flexible ticket exchanges with no fee for the first exchange (price differentials may apply). • Discounted parking for all purchased performances. • Free events do not count towards Multibuy and Megabuy discounts.

Senior Citizens (ages 65 and older) receive $2 off ticket prices.

- Disability Access: Brooklyn College’s Walt Whitman Theatre is wheelchair accessible on the orchestra level, with designated wheelchair seating located in the rear of the orchestra. Please notify the box office of any special seating needs when ordering your tickets. Please note that the mezzanine and balcony levels are not fully accessible – there is no elevator.
- Disability Assistance: Large-print materials available for many performances with 72 hour notice.
- On-Site Food: Refreshments are available for purchase prior to the performance and during intermission. No food or beverages are permitted in the theater.
