Great music is within reach of everyone, thanks to Leopold Stokowski. He founded the American Symphony Orchestra in 1962 to make music accessible to the masses. Today, the orchestra performs thematically organized concerts—often in collaboration with museums and other cultural institutions—linked to the visual arts, literature, politics and popular culture. Concerts are supplemented with free educational materials including an expanded program guide and pre-concert lectures.
