The 92nd Street Y is at once a professional performance center showcasing some of the world's leading musicians, dancers and writers; a community school of the arts; and a neighborhood YM-YWHA. Children may enjoy its presentations of classical music, theater, jazz and literary readings.
92Y also offers professionally taught classes and workshops in the visual and performing arts for young people. Founded to promote issues of Jewish values and American pluralism, 92Y now promotes a diverse roster of programs at two facilities: the 92nd Street Y (East 92nd Street and Lexington Avenue) and 92YTribeca (200 Hudson Street at Canal Street).
There are family-oriented workshops and events focused on Jewish culture and religious life, in addition to celebrations of Jewish holidays.
