Established by musician H. Benjamin Schuman in 1994, JazzReach seeks to foster a greater appreciation and awareness of jazz music through the presentation of multimedia programs for young audiences; mainstage concerts; and informative clincs, workshops and master classes. JazzReach educational programs engage students in an analysis of the cultural factors that have come together to create jazz; the social conditions that shaped its development; and the impact the musical form has had on the evolution of Americans' national identity.
