Whitney Family Programs are designed to encourage children ages 4–12 and their parents or caregivers to observe, discuss, and explore art together while developing a sense of life-long experimentation, critical thinking, and creative expression. Participants have the opportunity to work directly with contemporary artists, Museum educators, and each other.
The Whitney Museum of American Art impresses children with its very physical design. Entering the building is like crossing a bridge and walking into a giant sculpture with all kinds of art inside. In the magnificent galleries of Marcel Breuer's landmark building, children can explore modern masterpieces and discover what's new and compelling about art today.
