Red Hook Fest Call for Volunteers.
Help make a world-class, community-based arts festival possible! Volunteer at the 18th Annual Red Hook Fest. Produced by Dance Theatre Etcetera, the Red Hook Fest is an annual celebration of community and culture. The festival celebrates the accomplishments of some 200+ young people in performing arts programs across NYC and features performances by some of the most powerful progressive artists in the country. This year's festival is all about interactive art-making, with photography, storytelling, visual arts projects and more for all to participate in. Featured performers include: Climbing PoeTree, INSPIRIT, La Roka RPM and Full Circle, Paul Josephs and MetroSonics, Tato Torres y YerbaBuena.
Volunteers are vital to the success of the Red Hook Fest and are engaged in many aspects of the events throughout the day. This includes: festival set up, artist check in, info table, recycling and clean up, assisting with youth activities, and more. Every volunteer is also allowed time to watch the festival performers, provided with snacks and refreshments, and given a staff t- shirt!
When/Where
The festival takes place at Louis J Valentino, Jr. Park and Pier located in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Volunteers work one shift on Saturday, June 4 (either morning or afternoon) and then are free to stay and enjoy the festival! Red Hook Fest takes place from 11 am- 7 pm. Rain date: Sunday, June 5.
Volunteers are also encouraged during the opening night performance featuring Climbing PoeTree and youth groups on Friday, June 3 at PS 15 located at 71 Sullivan Street in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
