The Drawing Center, in SoHo's historic cast-iron district, is the only nonprofit institution in the country that focuses solely on the exhibition of drawings, both contemporary and historic. It was founded in 1977 to provide opportunities for emerging and under-recognized artists; to demonstrate the significance and diversity of drawing throughout history; and to stimulate public dialogue on issues of art and culture. The Drawing Center presents exhibitions, public programs, family workshops and literary readings for children. It also offers school and internship programs.

  • Disability Access: Wheelchair accessible
  • Gift Shops: Exhibition catalogues available
