The Asia Society brings the breadth and beauty of Asian cultures to Western eyes through its many exhibits, lectures, film series, performances and publications. Temporary exhibits, focusing on both the traditional and contemporary arts of Asia, are regularly offered. Children's senses may be further engaged through the society's musical and theatrical events such as Kathakali (dance drama of southern India) and Aak (Korean court music and dance). The goal of the Asia Society—greater understanding between Americans and Asians—is reflected in the Edward Larrabee Barnes-designed building, which is faced in red sandstone from Rajasthan, India, and polished red granite from Oklahoma.

Programs that explore the exhibits include ExploreAsia (tour and workshop) and Family Days.
