The Alliance for the Arts' mission is advocacy for the arts in New York through research and audience development. We publish information on the arts and cultural events in New York City as well as studies and reports highlighting the importance of the arts to the economy and to education.

The Alliance for the Arts' Web sites www.NYC-ARTS.org and www.NYCkidsARTS.org provide detailed information on cultural institutions such as museums, performing arts groups, parks and zoos. These sites also highlight hundreds of current and upcoming events and exhibitions. Weekly e-mail announcements highlight some of the most interesting and exciting events happening each week (sign up to receive e-mail updates).

The most recent innovation at the Alliance is the launch of NYC ARTSApps. The free, GPS-based NYC ARTS iPhone App lets you find arts events happening nearby, or by category, cultural organization and neighborhood in all five boroughs. Listings are for events happening in the next three days.

The free NYC ARTS calendar widget allows bloggers and organizations to publish cultural events on their Web sites, drawing from the published events on NYC ARTS. Pick an organization or category and install the widget to get an automated feed of events spanning the next 30 days.
