Spectacular views of the Hudson River and the Palisades, a vast expanse of green lawns, colorful gardens, woodlands and sky. Wave Hill, one of the country's leading public gardens, is a picturesque and peaceful location for walks, listening to music, viewing art exhibits, learning about the environment, or just contemplating nature from one of the many chairs placed throughout the compound's 28 acres.
The two restored manor houses in this public garden, the older built in 1843, have served as residences for Mark Twain, Theodore Roosevelt and Arturo Toscanini. Today, they function as a cultural center, offering nature-related programs, and visual and performing arts. There are also five greenhouses, which feature an extensive assortment of tropical and succulent plants.
Foreign-language Programs
Some weekend workshops are offered in Spanish and English, simultaneously.
