This beautiful 1843 Greek Revival mansion has stories and lessons for every visitor. The stunning architecture, the American Empire furnishings, the setting overlooking Long Island Sound, and the paintings and decorative objects reveal much about 19th-century life, work and art. Visitors can tour the mansion and stroll the grounds, which include formal gardens maintained by the International Garden Club.

Ongoing An exploration of Lenape culture includes an Algonquin language lesson, food preparation and storage, looking for animal tracks, and making cording (rope) using natural fibers. Students discuss the idea and differences of gender-specific tasks and what it means to be a team player and an integral member of a Lenape village.
Ongoing Visitors can view the historic house's collection of mid-19th century furnishings and fine and decorative arts. The estate grounds and the formal terraced garden behind the house are also a available for walking. Mansion and Carriage House tours begin at a quarter after the hour and are approximately 45 minutes in length.
