The Brooklyn Arts Exchange, a community arts center in Park Slope, known for its excellence in education since 1991. Over 600 young people study dance, theater, and related courses year-round. BAX is deeply invested in developing and encouraging the artist in each student. They offer a full range of youth classes six days a week for ages 18 months-18 years. The center is also dedicated to education and community outreach, and its programs include public school residencies. BAX produces festivals and performance programs for kids, including the Jumpin' Juniper Series.

  • Donations through BAX/Brooklyn Arts Exchange 's Web site: Donations can be made online through PayPal.
  • Volunteer Opportunities: BAX is seeking volunteers who can commit to at least 10 hours in a given month and be available for a training session as needed. We seek volunteer receptionists, facility managers, flyer distribution, box office, database entry, auction solicitation, handiwork, video and photography.

  • Beyond Our Walls Residencies

    Ongoing BAX offers numerous in-school and after school programs in 7-, 14- and 30-week segments and between one and three days per week. Options include Creative Movement (PreK–grade 2), which teaches concepts of making shapes, negative space and travel patterns, and Circus Arts (grades 2–12), in which clowning, juggling and comedic timing is taught.

  • DPW I & II Dance Showcase

    Please check full listing for event date and times This is a year-end performance featuring student and director choreography. These evenings will showcase original works created by the members of each workshop set on their peers as well as an ensemble work for each group, choreographed in collaboration with the directors.
