NYC Arts: The Complete Guide to Art and Culture

FIGMENT is a forum for the creation and display of participatory and interactive art by emerging artists. Interactive art creates a dynamic collaboration between the artist, the audience and their environment. FIGMENT's installations and events take place on Governors Island between June and October.

FIGMENT is a project of the Arts Action League. Its artists, planners and staff are all volunteers–everything about a FIGMENT project is born from a simple desire to share imagination with each other and the public. In challenging economic times, FIGMENT encourages artists to devise new ways to create, share, think and dream about what is possible. FIGMENT is a pro-active alternative to the commercial art world.
