Calpulli Mexican Dance Company engages children with dance, music and theater to illustrate the rich diversity of Mexico's cultural heritage. It also leads arts education programming and community outreach programs and events.
The performance company's repertoire is a rich tapestry of the dynamic and multifaceted influences on Mexican history and culture. Hispanic, indigenous and era-based works comprise a repertoire developed over the year by a collaborative team of both international and New York-based artists. The company has performed in premiere venues like Carnegie Hall and has an annual season at Queens Theatre in the Park.
Calpulli continues to expand its touring program beyond the East Coast and Midwest. Outreach activities include educational programming and free events, including open workshops, rehearsals and its donation-based children's dance program.
Foreign-lanugage Programs
The company's workshops and performances, children's and community programs can be presented in both English and/or Spanish as needed.
