The nonprofit organization American Indian Artists (AMERINDA) is committed to empowering Native Americans, breaking down barriers and fostering intercultural understanding and appreciation for Native culture, including the literary, media, visual and performing arts. 

Since its inception in 1987, AMERINDA has offered encouragement and assistance to emerging and established Native American artists living and working within New York City and State.  AMERINDA is the only multidisciplinary arts organization of its kind in the northeast region giving voice to and making visible traditional and contemporary forms of Native American expression.
