See individual events for hours of operation.

American Tap Dance Foundation youth programs, for children and teens, teach students about America’s own indigenous art form–tap. A distinguished faculty shares their knowledge of the artistry and history of tap with each student in a fun, safe and supportive environment.

The class season runs from September through June.  The youth program within Tap City, the New York City Tap Festival happens annually the first week of July.  Specialized Tap Day Camps happen in August.

The Tap City Youth Ensemble gives intermediate and advanced tap dancers ages 11 to 19 the opportunity to work with professional choreographers to learn classic and contemporary tap repertory.

The Tap City Youth Ensemble performs in a range of New York area venues including formal concerts, school shows, free public events, and Tap City - The New York City Tap Festival each July.  ATDF's Tap City Youth Ensemble also performs for grades K-12 in a production we call Tappin' Into New York. It is a high energy, educational show exploring the history of tap dance and its connection to New York City.
