Founded in 1949, the After Dinner Opera Company is known for its performances of American chamber works for general audiences. Past performances have included several works by Seymour Barab—including Passion in the Principal's Office and The Ruined Maid at Symphony Space on the Upper West Side, and Offenbach's Tales of Hoffman, at La Belle Epoque in Lower Manhattan. In addition, the company works in conjunction with the Third Street Music School Settlement to introduce young audiences to music and dance through in-school workshops.
