Located in the historic Gramercy Park neighborhood, the Sidney Mishkin Gallery of Baruch College offers five exhibits a year ranging from scholarly and multicultural shows to one-person exhibitions of the work of mature artists. Exhibitions have included Venezuela: The Next Generation, which introduced many contemporary Venezuelan artists to Americans for the first time; Romare Bearden: Work with Paper, which comprised drawings, prints, watercolors and collages by the African-American artist; and Marsden Hartley in Bavaria, focusing on a little-known but intensely productive period in the career of this American artist. Baruch College is one of the seven senior colleges of the City University of New York. The gallery is located in a restored 1939 building constructed during the Work Projects Administration.
