Founded in 1973, the New York Grand Opera Company is noted for its fully staged outdoor performances of rarely seen operas and its introduction of new opera stars. In addition to performing outdoors in Central Park in the summer, the company performs throughout the year in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Co-Op City in the Bronx.
