The Schomburg Center is one of the finest research facilities in the world for the study of African-American history and culture. The five collection divisions include art objects, audio- and videotapes, books, manuscripts, motion picture films, newspapers, periodicals, photographs, prints and sheet music. Exhibits promote the history and culture of people of African descent around the world.
