Representatives of more than 70 Native American nations are members of the American Indian Community House (AICH), founded in 1969. AICH's mission is to work to improve the status of life for Native Americans and to foster intercultural understanding. It is active in the areas of job training, substance abuse counseling, health services, youth activities and the arts.

The Performing Arts Department coordinates various cultural activities, including dramatic productions, concerts, storytelling, pow-wows, lectures, forums and conferences. It presents internationally recognized all-Native performing ensembles such as Ulali and the Thunderbird American Indian Dancers.
