Henry Street offers a variety of programs suitable for young people which occur in three theaters, an amphitheater, galleries, dance and visual art studios, classrooms, practice rooms, rehearsal spaces and an outdoor sculpture garden.
ARTS-IN-EDUCATION PROGRAM, ABRONS ART CENTER THEATER PROGRAM The Arts-In-Education program lets students explore all art forms by bringing artists to schools to conduct special classes and workshops. In Curriculum Quilts kids use themes from their classes to create original cards, books, or wearable art. Schools can also choose from programs such as Music Around the World, Making Murals, and the ABCs of Architecture and Video Projects. Henry Street also offers afterschool and Saturday workshops in acting, musical theater, hip hop, playwriting, theater design and production. Adolescents interested in building art skills and portfolios can register for Henry Street's special Saturday Visual Arts Academy. (Spring registration lasts through February 28th, and scholarships are available.)

With the renewed appreciation of the dangers and heroism of a firefighter's life, this museum tells the story of the FDNY through a rich collection of artifacts dating from the 18th century to the present.
Retired firefighters teach school groups the evolution of fire-fighting in New York City, from the bucket brigades of the 1600s to modern fire engines. The tour also offers an interactive fire safety presentation where students enter a mock apartment equipped with safe theatrical smoke as well as other devices that illustrate common household fire hazards.
