Action Center to End World Hunger
Students will explore the role governments play in social issues, and the difficult decisions they are faced with. They will learn about Indonesia’s recent political history, initiatives the government is taking to empower its citizens and how collaboration between government and citizen groups can greatly improve lives.
Students will compare U.S. social services budget to that of Indonesia. In groups they will learn the difficult process of prioritizing social needs and determine the spending of a mock government. They will then understand how they can get involved in the government’s decision making process at the community, local and national level.
With exhibitions, interactive stations and talks, the Action Center welcomes visitors to learn about global hunger and poverty how the public can combat these issues. School groups are welcome.
