Bomba & Plena In the Schools is part of LP21's "Bomba & Plena For All: Educating Through the Arts" initiatives.
A service open to schools (grades K-12) and educational organizations, the series offers a variety of educational and cultural programs in several formats: workshops, lectures, performance/lectures, concerts, assemblies and multi-day residencies.
All activities are offered by LP21's roster of traditional artists and arts educators. In the Schools has been providing students with folk and traditional arts education since 1988.
Through a unique combination of accessible community programs and touring performances, Los Pleneros de la 21 (LP21) fosters the awareness, appreciation and practice of Puerto Rican cultural expressions, particularly those of the African Diaspora.
