Imaginations take flight in this workshop where young ornithologists learn about bird habitats and create their own bird feeder to take home.

    Ongoing The process of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly is one of nature's more mysterious happenings. Kids in this workshop learn how the caterpillar sustains itself inside of its cocoon and how it transforms into a beautiful butterfly.

    Ongoing By learning the differences between honey bees, wasps and hornets, kids can curb a fear of a harmless insect. This workshop teaches students what bees do, how long their life cycle is and why there's nothing to be afraid of.

    Ongoing Now serving as a bird sanctuary, the museum's distinguishing feature is it garden, which is maintained using gardening methods from the 18th century including hand pruning and the use of natural pesticides. Docents give tours of the house, which has original period belongings of the Orth family.
