The comedic musical Avenue Q uses Muppet-like puppets to portray characters struggling to make it in New York City. Princeton, a college graduate, arrives in the city with big dreams and a tiny bank account. He soon meets Brian, an out-of-work comedian, and his therapist fianceé Christmas Eve; Nicky the good-hearted slacker and his roommate Rod---a Republican investment banker who seems to have some sort of secret. Together, Princeton and his newfound friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life.

New World StagesConstructed on the site of the old Madison Square Garden, New World Stages represents the modern spirit of Off-Broadway theater. The primarily underground facility boasts five theaters of varying size, a gallery, a bar and a common lobby.
