NYC Arts: The Complete Guide to Art and Culture

Museum Mile

The wealth of world-class museums and cultural institutions along the Upper East Side's stretch of  Fifth Avenue has given the blocks the moniker, "Museum Mile," offering the most diverse art-viewing opportunities on any given mile in the country.

The Alliance for the Arts' Museum Mile map (PDF) shows the proximity of the museums. The map is part of a series of cultural maps that include Lincoln Square to Columbus Circle, Lower Manhattan and 42nd Street.

The official Museum Mile cultural groups are listed below in the order they are located, North to South along Fifth Avenue, between 105th and 82nd Streets.

Attractions nearby the Museum Mile institutions include the Frick Collection, the Ukrainian Institute of America, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Asia Society and Museum, and the 92nd Street Y

El Museo del Barrio

National Academy Museum and School
