    Castle Clinton is an historic monument site operated by the National Park Service in Battery Park, at the very tip of Lower Manhattan. Ferry tickets to Ellis and Liberty Islands are sold here and boats dock behind it. The circular structure is often used for concerts and theatrical performances.

    At 2.5 miles long and a half-mile wide, the park is the largest work of art in New York City. In addition to playgrounds and landscaped areas, it holds a zoo, carousel, "castle" and woodlands.

    The Central Park Conservancy, is the caretaker of America's most-frequented urban park. Its educational programs to teach ecology, design and park stewardship to 30,000 students and teachers annually; and offers recreational programs for people of all ages at the North Meadow Recreation Center.
