    Brooklyn Public Library

    This library system--the fifth largest in the country--serves more than six million people each year. The famous Central Library, whose building resembles an open book, is the main reference center and the core of a borough-wide system with 58 branches in as many neighborhoods.

  • Eastchester Branch—New York Public Library

    Bronx

    Mon & Tues: 12 pm-6 pm
    Wed & Thurs: 11 am-7 pm
    Fri: 12 pm-5 pm
    Sat: 10 am-5 pm

    The one-story facility houses adult, young adult and children's collections. An auditorium is available for community group meetings.

  • Eastern Parkway Branch—Brooklyn Public Library

    Brooklyn

    Mon, Wed & Fri: 10 am-6 pm
    Tues: 1-6 pm
    Thurs: 1-8 pm
    Sat: 10 am-5 pm

    A two-story, 5-bay library Carnegie building, Eastern Parkway Branch features a limestone facade with large arched windows and is reached by a flight of steps, a characteristic Carnegie library feature. It is wheelchair accessible. For more information, click here.

    Tues: 1 pm - 6 pm

    Thurs: 1 pm - 8 pm

    Sat: 10 am - 5 pm

    A two-story Carnegie building, Eastern Parkway Branch has a limestone facade with large arched windows and is reached by a flight of steps, a characteristic Carnegie library feature. There is a children's section and foreign language materials available in Spanish, French, Hebrew and Russian.

    Weekly programs on Friday include crochet/knit classes and a book club for adults. For more information on the branch, click here.

  • East Flatbush Branch—Brooklyn Public Library

    Mon, Wed & Fri: 10 am-6 pm
    Tues: 1-8 pm
    Thurs: 1-6 pm
    Sat: 10 am-5 pm

    Mon & Thurs 1-8 pm

    Tues 1-6 pm

    Wed & Fri 10 am-6 pm

    Sat & Sun closed

    Foreign language collections at this branch include Chinese, Greek, Korean and Spanish.
