  • National September 11 Memorial (9/11 Memorial)

    Manhattan

    Beginning September 12, 2011, the public can visit the memorial with advanced reservations for a timed ticket. Two reflecting pools sit within the footprints where the Twin Towers once stood. The names of every person who died in the 2001 and 1993 attacks are inscribed into panels edging the pools.

  • National Parks of New York Harbor Conservancy

    Manhattan

    The conservancy convenes lectures and produces exhibitions about New York Harbor and the 23 national parks and historic sites that call the harbor home. It also leads harbor and walking tours.

  • New York Vietnam Veterans Memorial

    Manhattan

    The 16-foot high, 66-foot long memorial not only remembers the roster of the dead and honors those who fell, but celebrates life for those who survived. Excerpts of 83 letters, poems and journal entries written by 65 individuals—both those who returned from the Vietnam War and those who did not—are etched into illuminated glass blocks.
