    The renowned modern dance company, led by choreographer Mark Morris, was founded in 1980. In 2001 it opened its dance center in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, to provide a home for the company, rehearsal space for the dance community, outreach programs for local children and a school offering dance classes for all ages.
